Healthcare: A Calling and A Career

Transitioning into the health care field in 2005 has been one of the best decisions I've made. The journey has been and is currently productive. I've learned that when I set my mind to achieve goals, anything is possible. I have 11 years of healthcare experience, including nursing, assisted living support, problem, case, and patient service management. My career began as a Developmental Disability Advocate. I moved up to an Individual Support Specialist. I then moved up to a Certified Nursing and Geriatric Assistant in where I started working with the senior population in different communities. In the Fall of 2014, I continued my journey and currently learning the logistics of becoming a Health Administrator. It has allowed me to add to my experience and gain knowledge of the ways I can be an asset and continue pouring into the lives of others.
In 2016, I and my family were featured in the Holy Cross Health Magazine. It was a blessing to have had the opportunity share my story with the surrounding communities about the expert care my family and I received after experiencing pregnancy challenges with my second child. I believe knowledge is power and a gateway to quality answers and positive results for someone, no matter the situation at hand. Healthy Community involvement goes hand in hand with a healthy family. Advocating, coaching, assisting, training and mentoring demonstrated among different individuals can help you change, live and lead a productive and healthier lifestyle, which is truly a blessing. For that, I am thankful to be a part of the healthcare community.
