A Renewed Mind
2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. --- Romans 12:2
Our lives are evidence of our thoughts. We are called to think the way God thinks. Spending time in God’s Word and in Daily Prayer & Meditation is the key to transforming & renewing our mind.
For many years I believed that I was who others said I was, and I did what others told me I should do. Today, I am grateful that I am learning one day at a time to do what it says in Romans 12:2 - renew and transform my mind so that I can be who God has called me to be and do what God has called me to do.
God’s Word is the key to breaking out of beliefs that do not serve us well. In Philippians 4:8 we are told to think on whatever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and are of good report. This means we should not waste time thinking on things that are negative or that bring us down. Just because a situation appears bad or is undesirable does not mean that we need to think on it. We have a choice. We can be aware of it, review it and even work to change it with God’s help, but we should not spend unnecessary time thinking on it.
God has blessed us to see this day. Let’s use it see good. Refuse to be brought down by circumstances. Rest in the fact that He who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Know that God desires to bless you! You will attract to you more of what you give your attention to; so be sure to focus on what builds and lifts you up.
Stand firm with Christ and choose to see things His Way because with Him all things are possible, and a mind is a terrible thing to waste.
